Applingua CEO recognised as Entrepreneur of the Year

The year 2017 has already seen many exciting things happen in Cardiff and in Wales. This list now includes the inaugural Welsh SME Business Awards.

The awards ceremony was held at Portland House in Cardiff Bay. The venue put on an excellent reception and served up a delicious three course meals, with both vegetarian and vegan options. In fact, the Applingua team shared a table with two representatives from Anna Loka, who received a retail award.

Our CEO, Robert Lo Bue, had been nominated for the award of Entrepreneur of the Year for his work at Applingua, growing and building the company from a small lifestyle business to a fully fledged tech startup based right in the heart of the Welsh capital.

Instead of a panel choosing the final winner from a list of finalists, the awards organisers put the list online, sharing it on social media and encouraging the public to get involved and vote.

Known for his contribution to the local tech scene, it came as no surprise to us when Rob’s name was announced as the winner of the award.

During his acceptance speech, Rob thanked all his team at Applingua and said “I wouldn’t be here without the efforts of my team.”

So the whole team would like to wish Rob a massive congratulations and big well done!
