Support for 10 new languages in iTunes Connect

It’s not only the Queen who gets two birthdays! Apple announced today support for extra 10 languages in iTunes Connect (iTC).

iTC now supports Norwegian, Turkish, Finnish, Danish, Indonesian, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese, Greek, and Traditional Chinese. This means you can finally add App Store descriptions and keywords to your app in these languages, giving your apps a huge SEO boost.

What this means for developers who have already localized

If you’ve localized your app into the above languages, you should definitely make use of this new opportunity. Contact us and we’ll translate the text for you.

If you are new to localization

The above languages were always supported as app translations, but not on iTunes Connect. This meant, for example, that if you localized your app into Traditional Chinese, your App Store description would still be in English. Not any more. Applingua always advised their clients about this in the past, but now we’ll be able to offer you your App Store description and keywords in more languages than before.

Thanks Apple – a definite move in the right direction!
